Breast cancer is a lethal disease. As its name indicate that it is a type of cancer that is spreading worldwide. It has affected millions of women in every country. Breast cancer is the uncontrolled cell division in the breast that can form tumors. Cell division first starts in the region of the breast, forms tumors and spreads to other organs to affect them. Tumors which are formed as a result of rapid multiplication of cells can be confined in the region of breast or can move to other organs. On this basis, we divide tumors into two classes.
- Malignant tumor
A malignant tumor is the early stage of breast cancer when it is contained in the breast and may have affected some lymph nodes near the breast. The cure is available in this state and the rate of survival is high.
Metastasis is the type of tumor which is moving and spreading to other parts of the body like lungs, lymph nodes, brain, heart, and armpits. It is the critical stage where the chances of survival are less. Treatment is also available for metastatic tumors but there is no guaranty of complete recovery.

Stages of Breast Cancer
There are 4 stages of breast cancer. At the 1st stage, women are not able to diagnose that they have gotten breast cancer because it causes no pain. It is mostly detected at stage 2. Stage 4 is considered the most dangerous and last stage of breast cancer.
There are many treatments available for breast cancer. Some of them are:
- Radiation therapy
- Hormonal therapy
- Targeted therapy
The treatment is suggested by a specialist. It is suggested on the bases of age, body weight, hormone level, health status, size and type of tumor. Surgery can be applied if the tumor is small and malignant. Chemotherapeutic drugs are used along with surgery in case of invasive tumor. Targeted therapy is applied when a tumor has genetic bases. It mainly targets the proteins, cells, and tissues and can treat breast cancer without damaging the other cells. Hormonal therapy is valuable when a tumor has hormone receptors on it. Such drugs are used which are hormone inhibitors and can prevent the binding of the hormone to tumors.
